By requesting service, scheduling work, approving an estimate, signing a proposal, or allowing work to begin, the customer agrees to the following Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all residential, commercial, and industrial electrical services performed by Wisterman Electric.

1. Contractor Information

Wisterman Electric is a licensed electrical contractor performing work in accordance with:

California Electrical Code (CEC)
National Electrical Code (NEC)
Local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
Utility provider requirements (including PG&E when applicable)

2. Estimates and Project Conditions

All estimates are based on visible conditions at the time of inspection.

Electrical systems are often concealed within walls, ceilings, underground pathways, and equipment. Additional issues may be discovered once work begins.

Therefore:

Estimates are not guaranteed final prices
Hidden damage, unsafe wiring, obsolete equipment, or code violations may require additional work
Additional work will be quoted and approved prior to proceeding whenever possible

Wisterman Electric reserves the right to correct immediately dangerous conditions without delay when necessary for safety.

3. Change Orders

If unforeseen conditions are encountered, Wisterman Electric will:

Notify the customer
Explain the issue
Provide pricing for correction
Obtain approval before continuing whenever feasible

4. Permits and Inspections

When required, permits will be obtained unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Inspection scheduling is controlled by the local jurisdiction. Wisterman Electric is not responsible for delays caused by city, county, inspector, or utility scheduling.

If a customer declines a legally required permit, Wisterman Electric may refuse to perform the work.

5. Utility Company Coordination

For service upgrades, meter work, or disconnect/reconnect operations:

Scheduling depends on the utility provider
Power shutoffs may occur outside our control
We are not responsible for missed utility appointments or delays

6. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

Provide safe and clear access to work areas
Secure pets and occupants
Remove valuables near work zones
Ensure an adult is present when access is required

Wisterman Electric is not responsible for damage to items left in active work areas.

7. Existing Wiring and Code Compliance

Electrical codes change over time.

Wisterman Electric guarantees new work meets current code requirements.

Existing wiring outside the project scope is not required to be upgraded unless necessary for safety or required by code for the installation being performed.

8. Customer-Supplied Equipment

When customers provide their own materials, devices, fixtures, EV chargers, panels, or equipment:

Wisterman Electric is not responsible for:

Manufacturer defects
Compatibility issues
Device lifespan
Programming or connectivity issues
Warranty claims
Performance or nuisance tripping

Labor to install customer-provided equipment is non-refundable.

9. Wall, Ceiling, and Surface Access

Electrical work may require cutting drywall, stucco, siding, concrete, or finishes.

Unless explicitly stated in writing:

Cosmetic repair is not included
Painting and texture matching are not included

Work areas will be left ready for patching by others.

10. Scheduling and Cancellations

Appointments reserve technician time.

24-hour notice required for cancellation
Same-day cancellations may incur a service charge
No-show appointments may be billed

11. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Late payments may result in:

Late fees
Collection costs
Mechanics lien rights as allowed under California law

12. Lifetime Workmanship Warranty

Wisterman Electric provides a Lifetime Workmanship Warranty on all labor performed.

This warranty remains valid for as long as the original customer owns the property where the work was performed.

If a failure occurs due solely to improper installation by Wisterman Electric, we will repair the workmanship defect at no labor cost.

This warranty applies only to the original installation and does not extend to modifications, alterations, or additions made after completion.

What the Warranty Covers

Improper connections or terminations
Installation-related mounting failures
Installation-caused code violations
Wiring errors directly caused by our work

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

This warranty does not apply to failures caused by conditions outside of our workmanship, including but not limited to:

Manufacturer defects or equipment failure
Customer-supplied materials
Normal wear and aging of devices
Power surges, voltage fluctuations, or utility issues
Lightning, fire, flood, or weather damage
Rodents or environmental damage
Physical damage or tampering
Work performed by others after installation
Remodeling or structural movement
End-of-life equipment replacement
Software, network, or smart device issues
Code changes after installation date

Parts are covered only by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Service Call Policy

The warranty covers labor to correct installation defects only.

Diagnostic or trip charges may apply if the issue is unrelated to our workmanship.

Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer.

Commercial Installations

For commercial, rental, or high-use applications, the warranty covers installation workmanship only and does not guarantee lifespan of devices subject to normal operational wear.

Sole Remedy

Repair of the defective workmanship is the sole obligation under this warranty.

Wisterman Electric is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages including loss of use, business interruption, or product loss.

13. Emergency Repairs

Emergency service focuses on restoring safe operation.

Temporary repairs may be necessary until permanent repair can be scheduled.

14. Photo Documentation

Wisterman Electric may photograph work for documentation, permits, training, or marketing purposes.

No identifying personal information will be published without permission.

15. Website Use

Content on this website is for informational purposes only and does not replace professional electrical evaluation.

Electrical work can cause injury or death. Always hire a licensed professional.

16. Acceptance of Terms

By scheduling service, approving an estimate, or allowing work to begin, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
